ABOUT ME

WHY DID I TRANSFORM FROM LANGUAGE TEACHER TO NEUROLANGUAGE COACH®?

The transformation through extensive, rigorous training courses was a life-changing experience. I shifted from a directive to a non-directive style, developed a more impactful pattern of communication, and heightened my sensitivity and versatility towards learners to provoke learner awareness. This journey has made me a more efficient, humane, holistic, and encompassing educator.

Having fulfilled many roles in education over the years, I decided to become a Neurolanguage Coach® to expand my knowledge and enhance my language teaching. I am passionate about my mission to help people learn and grow, regardless of their learning differences or age, empowering and guiding them to achieve their learning goals. I am grateful for the opportunity to use my expertise, applying coaching practices grounded in neuroscience and techniques for a brain-friendly transfer of grammar. I deliver language learning in a practical, systematic way, modeling an empathetic approach and providing positive feedback as my learners progress. It is truly gratifying to witness the incredible results of language learning through Neurolanguage Coaching®.

MY CAREER BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION

I began teaching language when I moved to Brazil many years ago. Initially, I taught English to Portuguese speakers in EFL institutions and privately. I then taught at an international school in Brazil, continuing to offer individualized lessons and translating academic papers and articles on the side. Later, I created and coordinated an innovative EFL course for children, which included training teachers. After years of teaching children and teenagers, I became a professor at two universities, teaching English for Special Purposes in various programs.

Subsequently, I launched my own language business for expatriates working for international companies, providing Portuguese instruction and cultural guidance to them and their families. I also taught English to other foreign employees seeking to advance their careers.

Back in Norway, I most recently worked as a learning support specialist and art teacher at an international school. With that behind me now, I have begun dedicating myself to making a difference in the realm of language learning as a Neurolanguage Coach®.

My education includes a post graduate degree and certification in educational psychology, a Master’s degree in education with a specialization in international teaching, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Norwegian.

WHO AM I?

Life has led me to many diverse destinations, and I consider myself fortunate to have met so many fascinating people and experienced their unique cultures over the years. Born in the United States to Scandinavian parents, my siblings and I grew up primarily in the U.S., living in several states, with a brief period in Norway.

In my early twenties, I traveled to Brazil to teach English and ended up settling there. I married a Brazilian and together we raised our three sons. Much like my childhood, we spent most of our time in Brazil, but also lived close to my family in the United States for a couple of years. A few decades later, I finally fulfilled my dream of returning to Norway, reconnecting with my roots in the place I cherish the most.

I am adventurous and enjoy nature, outdoor activities, children, animals, arts, and music. I find peace in long walks through beautiful landscapes.

AN EXCITING NEW DIRECTION: HELPING PARENTS NURTURE EARLY BILINGUAL DEVELOPMENT

As my professional path continues to evolve, I’ve embraced an exciting new direction: empowering parents to begin and nurture their children’s bilingual journey during the earliest and most impactful years of development.

Drawing from my background in education, neuroscience, and parenting, I now guide families with joyful, brain-friendly ways to support bilingualism — through connection, play, and everyday moments.

This new dimension of my work beautifully complements my Neurolanguage Coaching® practice and reflects my deep belief that language learning, at any age, grows best through love, presence, and purpose.
